HYUNDAI ELITE I20:
The new launch of Hyundai is Elite i20, on 11th August 2014.The company has officially unveiled the rendering images of its upcoming India bound i20. The automaker has ditched the 'Grand' term and came up with the new 'Elite' name. The new i20 will now be called as the Hyundai Elite i20. Mechanically, the car remains unchanged and will keep on carrying its tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.4-litre diesel unit. The top end variants are expected to get a four-speed automatic gearbox while the six-speed manual comes as a standard. The booking has already started with an upfront payment of Rs 10,000.

1.DESIGN:
Designed at Hyundai's Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany, the new-generation i20 has been christened as the 'Elite i20'. The new model of the hatchback features the company's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy.While the car has an entirely new look, it remains unchanged mechanically.
2.MILEAGE:
This hatchback is speculated to come with both like diesel and petrol.All the diesel variants are expected to be fitted with a 1396 cc second generation 'U II' mill that is based on a DOHC valve configuration.This power plant has the ability to produce minimum mileage of approximately 18.4 Km pl while delivering a maximum of 21.27 Km pl. On the other hand, its petrol version can be equipped with a 1197 cc, VTVT engine that is based on dual overhead camshaft valve configuration. This petrol mill can deliver a mileage of 13.3 Km pl (under normal driving conditions) while producing a maximum of 18.5 Km pl on the highways.
3.POWER OF HYUNDAI ELITE I20:
According to the details, this diesel version will be equipped with a 1.4-litre engine that has 4-cylinders and 16-valves. It is further incorporated with a common rail diesel engine system that helps the motor to produce a maximum power of 88.76 bhp along with a commanding torque output of 219.6 Nm. While the petrol version are expected to host a 1.2-litre Kappa engine that has multi point fuel injection system. This power plant can belt out 82.85 bhp that results in a maximum torque output of 113.7 Nm.
4.ENGINE & PERFORMANCE:
The car maker is going to offer this refurbished version with two engine options for the buyers to choose from. The petrol versions will be equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa dual VTVT petrol engine that has a displacement capacity of 1197 cc. It is based on dual overhead camshaft valve configuration with 4-cylinders and 16-valves that receives fuel through a multi-point injection system. This petrol mill can develop a maximum power of about 82.85 bhp at 6000 rpm that results in a commanding torque output of 113.7 Nm at just 4000 rpm. This Kappa engine is skilfully paired with a five speed manual transmission gearbox.On the other hand, the diesel variants are speculated to come with a powerful 1.4-litre second generation U II engine that has common rail injection system. It comprises of 4-cylinders and a total of 16-valves, which form a DOHC valve configuration. It can belt out a commanding power of 88.76 bhp at 4000 rpm that results in a peak torque output of 219.6 Nm in the range of 1500 to 2750 rpm. This torque output is distributed to the front wheels through an advanced six speed manual transmission gearbox.
5.SAFETY & SECURITY
In terms of safety, the car maker is set to retain all the aspects that are already incorporated to its earlier i20 version. Its base variant is expected to have aspects like central locking system for doors and tailgate, impact sensing auto door lock, day and night inside rear view mirror, lane change indicator, an engine immobilizer, dual horn and clutch lock. In addition to these, the Magna trim is speculated to get rear parking sensors, rear defogger with timer and a key less entry with burglar alarm. The 'Sportz' trim might get sophisticated aspects like driver airbag, anti lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, rain sensing wipers, front fog lamps and parking assist featuring a rear camera with display on electrochromic mirror. The top end variant could be offered with an advanced key less entry, passenger airbag and automatic light control. While the Asta Option trim is learnt to have aspects like side and curtain airbags along with speed sensing auto door lock.
6.ACCELERATION & PICK-UP
This upcoming hatchback will be perkier in terms of acceleration and pickup like its earlier version. It is rumored that the car maker will offer the petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox, which enables the vehicle to breach a 100 Kmph speed mark in about 15 to 16 seconds. At the same time it enables the vehicle to achieve a top speed of approximately 140 to 145 Kmph. On the other hand, its second generation U II diesel mill will be coupled with a six speed manual transmission gearbox.It will allow the vehicle to breach a 100 Kmph speed mark from a standstill in 13 to 14 seconds. This diesel version can reach a top speed in the range of 160 to 165 Kmph, which is quite good.
